Pollinators and other wee beasties

It is easy to take insect life for granted, and then suddenly we notice that there are less butterflies around our gardens, that we haven't seen a ladybird for some time, or that hoverfly numbers seem down this year. But it is bees, both wild and honey, that seem to have really caught our imagination and they face challenges on a number of fronts.
